Welcome to the St Christopher’s Church web site. St Christopher’s,
part of the Church of England, serves the parish of Thornhill, on the eastern boundary of Southampton, and has close links with other Christians in the community. Jesus welcomed everyone and everyone is welcome at St Christopher’s.
Jesus said ‘I am among you as one who serves.’ (Luke 22:27) He wants people to develop their Christian faith and spiritual understanding. St Christopher’s aims to provide a centre for Christian worship and to offer pastoral and practical support.
Faith is put into practice by being involved in many initiatives and groups in Thornhill, including a close association with the schools. There are a variety of styles of worship and hopefully there is something for everyone.
St Christopher’s is at the heart of the community of Thornhill and everyone is invited to discover God’s love in their lives.
We are a Fair Trade Church and have the
Eco Church Bronze Award.
In line with Government instructions as of March 24th St Christopher’s and all places of worship will be closed to the public until further notice.

Worship at home
Duncan will be celebrating Holy Communion in the Vicarage each Sunday at 9.00 a.m and this will be streamed live on Facebook. To watch, go to Facebook, St Christopher’s in Thornhill and friends. The service this week includes a Trinity Sunday message from Ven. Dr Peter Rouch, Archdeacon of Bournemouth.
The service sheet and hymn words can be found there and on the Worship page so that you can join in. You will also find on our Worship page the text of Archdeacon Peter’s talk later on Sunday.
A prayer, the readings and reflections for this Sunday and the following week, which you can use at home can also be found on the Worship page along with acts of worship for Morning and Night Prayer. If you know of anyone who does not use the internet and would appreciate paper copies of the worship for each Sunday please let Chris know.
Please do not hesitate to contact Duncan or one of the Ministry Team if you have any inquiries, comments or concerns at this difficult time.
If you or anyone you know needs any help or support whilst in self-isolation please contact Duncan (023) 8178 7435 and he will be pleased to offer any help he is able to arrange where at all possible.
For older people Silverline (08004708090) is also an option, they offer advice, information and more importantly a friendly chat. They will also set up a friendship telephone circle with people who have similar interests.
The church hall is currently free on Wednesday evenings. Hire of the hall costs £20 per hour or £36 for a three-hour regular weekly booking. To book the hall contact Martin.
